Who are we?
Whatfix is an AI platform advancing the “userization” of enterprise applications, empowering companies to maximize the ROI of their digital investments. Technology needs adoption. It’s no different for AI. As AI reshapes roles, workflows, and human-machine interactions, it also introduces new layers of complexity and user friction. This is where Whatfix plays a pivotal role. A decade old DNA of empowering people to succeed with technology and not replacing them. We call this philosophy Userization: the belief that technology must adapt to the user, not the other way around.
At the heart of userization philosophy is ScreenSense, our proprietary AI engine, which continuously interprets both the context of what users are doing in an application or an AI tool and the intent behind their actions. By combining these signals, Whatfix delivers real-time guidance, nudges, knowledge, and automation directly in the flow of work.
This intelligence powers our entire product suite.

Be one of the key Leaders in this awesome journey of building a billion-dollar company!
About the Role:
Most companies run marketing automation. We are building something different: an intelligent, signal-driven demand generation engine. One where buyer intent automatically triggers the right action, AI handles the orchestration, and humans focus on strategy and judgment.
We are looking for a Head of Marketing Technology, Automation and AI to lead the function that powers Whatfix's go-to-market engine. The roles and responsibilities span across:
-
Marketing automation infrastructure
-
Martech architecture
-
The data and signal layer
-
Account-based programs, and
-
The AI orchestration layer we are building on top of all of it.
This is a builder's role with a leader's scope: you will set the vision and roadmap for an intelligent, signal-driven demand generation system, while staying hands-on enough to go deep into the automation platform, lead routing logic, data hygiene, or a prompt chain that isn't converting. You will lead a team of marketers and builders, own the demand gen martech stack including what we buy and how we buy it, and be accountable for the quality and reliability of everything this engine produces. This person will report to the Head of Global Demand Generation. The role is open to candidates in India (Bengaluru preferred) or the United States.
This role requires someone who has built GTM systems hands-on, not just directed them. Someone equally credible in an executive review and inside the automation platform fixing a routing bug. Demonstrated strength in systems thinking, data discipline, and developing teams through change are key to being successful in this role. Above all, we're looking for a builder — direct, low-ego, collaborative, and energized by owning systems that are partly built, partly imagined, and entirely theirs to shape.
What You Will Own:
Marketing Automation & Lifecycle - End to End
-
Full ownership of the marketing automation platform: architecture, campaign infrastructure, nurture programs, lead scoring, routing, and lifecycle management on Salesforce Pardot (Marketing Cloud Account Engagement) and other automation platforms.
-
Act as the guardian of customer data and privacy across all marketing systems - maintaining database health, deliverability, enrichment, compliance, and CRM data integrity
-
Own communication governance across the database: send cadence, suppression logic, opt-out and deliverability health.
-
Measure & monitor lead funnel performance and drive process and technology changes, including lead qualification criteria/scoring and data cleaning programs
-
Scalable, documented processes that survive team changes and grow with the business
Martech Stack - What to Buy, What to Consolidate and How to Buy
-
Own the martech roadmap: evaluation, procurement, integration, consolidation, and sunsetting across the full stack
-
Lead vendor evaluations and negotiations for major platform decisions, including ABM and intent data infrastructure
-
Build the integration architecture connecting automation, CRM, intent signals, ads, and outbound tooling into one coherent system
-
Bring external perspective from the industry i.e, new tools, new patterns, new marketing plays and bring more automation and AI capability into the team to increase overall efficiency.
-
Maintain deep enough platform fluency to diagnose integration and sync issues between marketing and sales tech stack
AI & Agentic Workflows
-
Architect and scale the AI orchestration layer: LLM-driven outbound personalization, automated account briefings, signal interpretation, anomaly detection, etc
-
Move the function from campaign execution toward agentic operations - systems that detect, decide, and act with human oversight
-
Stay hands-on with modern AI tooling: LLM APIs, prompt and context engineering, workflow automation platforms
-
Translate AI capability into pipeline outcomes, not demos
Account-Based Programs
-
Oversee account-based marketing across the full pipeline lifecycle - from target account engagement through deal acceleration
-
Connect intent and engagement signals to BDR/seller action: briefings, plays, and meeting-generation motions
-
Build the measurement and handoff discipline that makes account-based work accountable to revenue
Team Leadership
-
Lead, coach, and grow a team of marketers and builders - raising the bar from execution toward strategic systems thinking
-
Develop high-potential talent and create growth paths within the function
-
Set a culture of ownership: this team owns outcomes and quality, not just task completion
-
Operate as a strong cross-functional partner to Marketing functions, BDR, Sales, Revenue Operations, and other supporting functions.
Qualification Criteria:
Must Have:
-
10+ years in B2B SaaS marketing, with deep experience across marketing automation and operations, marketing technology, or GTM systems
-
Hands-on, end-to-end marketing automation expertise. You should have personally built, governed, and fixed marketing automation infrastructure (Pardot/Marketo/HubSpot, or equivalent), not just managed people who did
-
Proven ownership of data hygiene and governance at scale - you treat clean data as a revenue problem
-
Track record of martech stack ownership: you have made buy/build/consolidate decisions and lived with the consequences
-
Real AI fluency: you must have shipped LLM-integrated workflows or AI-driven GTM automation in production or Marketing Agents, not just experimented with them
-
People leadership experience: you have built and developed teams, including coaching senior individual contributors through change
-
Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with stakeholders and communicate findings to senior leadership.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have:
-
Experience at a B2B SaaS company through a meaningful growth stage
-
Experience with account-based marketing platforms and intent data (6sense, Demandbase, Factors.ai, or equivalent)
-
Exposure to GTM engineering tooling and patterns: enrichment pipelines, API-driven workflows, outbound orchestration
-
Familiarity with data warehouses and analytics infrastructure supporting marketing attribution.
-
Experience working across global teams and time zones.
Tools:
-
Marketing Automation Platforms (Must-have depth in at least one) - Salesforce Pardot / Marketing Cloud Account Engagement/Marketo (Adobe)/ HubSpot
-
CRM (Must-have working fluency) - Salesforce & HubSpot CRM
-
AI / LLM & Agentic Workflow (Must-have working fluency)
-
Claude API / OpenAI API / Gemini API
-
Prompt engineering / context engineering — as a discipline, not just tool familiarity
-
n8n, Zapier, Workato, Tray.io - as orchestration layer
-
ABM, Intent Data Platforms, Outbound (Good to-have fluency or prior experience)
-
6sense / Demandbase / Factors.ai
-
Influ2 / Linkedin Advertising
-
Outreach / Salesloft / Gong
-
Clay
Measures of Success for the Role:
-
North Star: Signal-to-meeting conversion rate - as the agentic engine matures, the function is measured on how reliably detected intent converts to qualified meetings.
-
Pipeline Outcomes:
-
Marketing-sourced and influenced SALs (Sales Accepted Leads) and pipeline contribution from owned motions (MA-sourced, ABM-sourced)
-
Lead and SAL quality, including handoff SLA adherence
-
CPSAL (Cost per SAL) efficiency across AI-orchestrated channels
-
System Health:
-
Data quality and funnel hygiene across marketing systems
-
Martech stack ROI - consolidation, utilization, spend efficiency
-
Team performance, development, and retention outcomes
Perks & Benefits (India):
-
Best-in-class medical insurance coverage
-
Free lunch & dinner buffet
-
Doorstep cab drop facility
-
Education sponsorship
