About the Role

Product Design is a fast-growing team at Whatfix of creative, collaborative, strategic people who care deeply about defining new paradigms for our category-defining products. You’ll get to work with a cross-functional team designer, researcher, and writers working together to build understanding and empathy for the users to rely on Whatfix to keep pace with the change that comes with digital adoption.

 As a Senior Product Designer, you will help us understand the needs of end users and help to elevate our design practices throughout the team. There is a company-wide eagerness to drive strategy through design and to experiment with new ways of working.

We are looking for people ready to work alongside Product Management, Engineering, and UX Research to solve complex problems through outstanding facilitation, research, quality execution, and human-centered design practices. If this sounds like you, then keep reading!

What you get to do

  • Lead product design projects across the entire product lifecycle, and work with other designers,  and cross-functional teammates to ship features in our end-user and content creator products.
  • Set the user experience strategy and influence the roadmap for the products you lead and, build the space for others to collaborate.
  • Work with small multi-disciplinary teams and partner closely with engineering, product, research, and customers to find innovative and practical solutions to design challenges.
  • Provide design thinking and leadership to develop the right product strategy. You’ll work with Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, and other functions across the company to tackle problems, shape the roadmap, and develop solutions that our users love to use.
  • Be autonomous. You’ll take full ownership of your work, and take responsibility for every last detail, every step of the way.
  • Rapidly produce multiple concepts and prototypes, and know-how and when to build and combine flows, user stories, sketches, wireframes, expand on our design systems, and deliver pixel-perfect specs.

What you bring to the table

  • Proven design experience. You have 6+ years of experience working in the B2B or Enterprise SaaS space. You’ve shipped products, and understand what it takes to build valuable, integrated, desirable experiences.
  • Prior experience in designing for analytics and data visualization would be a plus.
  • A talented systems thinker and problem solver who can connect the dots between various user groups and industry workflows and turn them into simple and intuitive design solutions and flows.
  • Constantly exploring concepts, tweaking flows, or refining designs that represent the big-picture work.
  • Effective communicator and facilitator. You’ve worked in and planned sprints, identified opportunities for spike projects, and structured workshops to drive outcomes quickly and effectively. 
  • Critical thinking. You’re familiar with standard methodologies but are just as comfortable challenging them.
  • An eye for detail and quality. The ability to deliver high-quality work and speak to what makes it so. You care about the impact and can create solutions that are oriented to business outcomes.
  • A human-focused design mentality. You bring empathy to your work. You are constantly looking to refine your designs through user feedback from conversations, user research, or hands-on user testing.
  • You have an online portfolio or PDF of example work that you can share with us.
