About the Role
UX writing sits within our Platform Tribe in a Shared Services Pod composed of Product Designers, UX Writers, and Developers. This team works across all Tribes and Pod to systematically elevate holistic product design, content, and development solutions.
As a W1 or W2 Writer on this team, you will support our W3 writer. UX writing and strategy as a practice is integral to a unified, modernized, user-friendly, and cohesive end-to-end Whatfix product narrative and experience. It not only increases the usability of the Whatfix product, but also the ability and speed with which our customers gain value from our product.
The shared services core product is Navi, our design system. In the same way a design system attempts to systematize UI, it also systematizes the way we handle content patterns like:
- Voice and tone
- Naming and labeling
- Grammar, vocabulary, and terminology
- Defining and framing new and existing product concepts and how they fit together as a whole
- Situational, educational, celebratory, introductory, motivational, or error guidance and content
- Approach to internationalization
- Approach to accessibility
- Information and content architecture
What you will do
In a supporting role to the UXC W3, you will help define, prioritize, integrate, systematize, and measure content across the product. You’ll contribute to the creation, delivery, and governance of content that is clear, consistent, user-centered, and aligned with UX heuristics.
Navi foundations and component guidance:
- Document and share best practices for content within the Navi Design System to ensure clarity and consistency.
- Create foundational content standards, including voice, tone, and terminology.
- Develop guidelines for various in-product scenarios (e.g. educational, celebratory, error messaging).
- Shape content strategies for internationalization and accessibility.
- Define component-level content and accessibility guidelines to support designers and product managers.
Cross-product guidance:
- Partner with UX designers and product managers to to improve content across the Whatfix experience, ensuring content and design work together to meet user needs.
- Help plan and write content for large cross-pod initiatives like Navigation, Notifications, Search, Browse, Homepage.
- Write and refine UX content such as UI labels, microcopy, feature names, and contextual messaging.
- Audit existing content and ensure consistency, usability, and adherence to best practices.
Research and measurement:
- Collaborate with UX researchers to conduct user research that will assist in crafting data-driven content
- Contribute to defining success metrics and assessing content usability to ensure continuous improvement.
You Might Be a Good Fit If You Have
- 1–2 years of experience in UX writing.
- A portfolio that shows a strong understanding of UX and content strategy principles.
- Familiarity with design systems and their role in scalable product development.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced product environment.
